Throughout the year, Sandhills Center hosts scheduled quarterly Provider Forums to provide updates on administrative and clinical matters. We also review significant changes in state and federal requirements, and provide other information that assists providers in achieving compliance with requirements to remain in good standing with both Sandhills Center and the state. Outside subject matter experts may be a part of these meetings, as well.

North Carolina's Transition to Managed Care: Supporting Members Transitioning to the Standard Plan Option Guidance for LME-MCO Providers
In February 2020, many members currently served by Sandhills Center will transition to the Standard Plan option under NC Medicaid Managed Care. Supporting Medicaid members through transitions between service delivery systems is called Transitions of Care. The transitional period surrounding the launch of the Standard Plan option is referenced as Crossover.
Sandhills Center is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to provide an overview of Crossover-related processes designed to support providers in ensuring member continuity of care through the transition to the Standard Plan option. The sessions will provide Crossover guidance, including:
- Submitting service authorization requests during the Crossover timeframe.
- Minimizing the risk of member service disruption.
- Locating current information about NC Medicaid Managed Care design and contracting with the PHPs.
- Identifying a beneficiary’s NC Medicaid Managed Care eligibility and, as applicable, selected/assigned PHP.
- Other topics specific to assisting providers, members and other stakeholders through the transition to NC Medicaid Managed Care.
This training will be offered as part of our quarterly Sandhills Center Provider Forums. Please note that Sandhills Center will cover additional topics during the forum, as well. A link to the formal agenda is below.
There are two sessions, one in the northern part of the Sandhills Center region, and one in the southern portion. Please register for only one session by using the links, below. For this provider forum, we are requesting that providers register to attend (limit 2 people per agency). Space is limited and we need a headcount.
